Physicist

We require a qualified and experienced physicist to join a multidisciplinary R&D team.  The role requires extensive knowledge of physics ideally in relation to lighting, a practical approach to problem solving and technology development, commercial awareness and the ability to convey complicated technical concepts to non-scientists.

This is a full-time senior position working at Ceravision's Head Office, R&D laboratories and Manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.  You will work as part of a team of R&D scientists, technologists, production and sales staff to advance the core science and develop new products. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and undertaking practical experiments
  • Working alongside other scientists 
  • Maintaining lab equipment; calibration, preventative maintenance, etc
  • Working closely with the commercial team
  • Coordinating with external consultants
  • Supporting sales/marketing as required including meeting customers
  • Assisting with the technical issues at customer installations
  • Verbal and written reporting in respect of R&D projects
  • Other tasks associated with an R&D management role.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or higher-level education in Physics.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Hands-on experience in R&D or product development ideally in lighting
  • Ability to present complicated concepts in a simplified manner
  • Proficiency in designing and performing practical experiments and analysis
  • Experience with RF technology and understanding of EM coupling
  • Experience in developing new technology is desirable but not essential.
RF Development Engineer

Ceravision requires a qualified and experienced RF Development Engineer to join a multidisciplinary research team.  The role requires extensive knowledge of the physics ideally in relation to lighting, a practical approach to problem solving and technology development, commercial awareness and the ability to convey complicated technical concepts to non-scientists.  This role offers a high degree of autonomy in driving the development of the next iteration of RF coupling technology.

This is a full time senior position working at Ceravision's Head Office, R&D laboratories and Manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.  You will work as part of a team of R&D scientists, technologists, production and sales staff to advance the core science and develop new products. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and undertaking practical experiments
  • Working alongside other scientists 
  • Liaising with suppliers and third parties to fabricate prototypes
  • Characterising currently available technology
  • Integration technology developments in to lighting prototypes
  • Designing from concept to production, including adhering to standards
  • Assisting initial production
  • Working closely with the commercial team
  • Verbal and written reporting in respect of R&D projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or higher-level education in Physics.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience with RF technology and good understanding of EM coupling
  • Hands-on experience in R&D, or product development
  • Proficiency in designing/performing practical experiments and analysing data
  • Experience in modelling RF using HFSS or similar would be advantageous
  • Experience working in developing new technology is desirable
  • Ability to present complicated concepts in a simplified manner.
